60th Anniversary Celebrations

25th May 2017

2017 is a very special year for Clare Primary School as we celebrate 60 years on the current school site.  The new school building was officially opened in May 1957.  A special service of celebration was held in Clare Presbyterian Church on Wednesday 24th May, children showcased many of their wonderful talents on this evening with beautiful performances from our School Choir, Orchestra, Recorder Group and a trio of violins.  Primary 1-3 sang a special song about our school and recited a poem also. Many children shared what Clare Primary School means to them and explained some of the key changes and events over the past 60 years.  Following the service family and friends were invited to share in a special supper in the school and had an opportunity to take a walk down memory lane looking at old photographs and artefacts from years gone by.  All children have taken part in a local study of Clare and their work was on display also.  This was a really lovely evening of celebration and we would like to express our sincere thanks to all who helped make it such a success and to thank our local community for their continuing dedication and support of "our wee school, right here in Clare"!
