PAST PUPIL SUCCESS
25th Apr 2024
Just before the Easter break two of our past pupils, Victoria and Faith, played for The Royal School Armagh hockey team in the prestigious Kate Russell All-Ireland hockey tournament. The girls qualified for this competition having won the Belfast Telegraph School’s Senior Cup. After two days of games against the champions from all regions of Ireland they were crowned All-Ireland Champions! Just a few weeks previously they had also come first in the Senior Superleague. The Royal School became the first school side to win all three of the major cup competitions in one season. We are proud to be able to say that these two girls began playing hockey at Clare PS during our after school activities. Both were fiercely competitive from a very young age and their determination has paid off. Victoria is in her last year of school and was suitably awarded with a trophy for Endeavour, drawing on her perseverance and sportsmanship throughout her years at Armagh. Faith is only in Year 12 and is therefore a very young squad member who will hopefully have more successful seasons to come. We want these girls to know that we watch their success with pride and we hope they can inspire the children currently at Clare PS to aim high.
