SWIMMING SUCCESS AT ULSTER SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS
On Saturday Ella-Rose, Faith and Henry represented Clare PS at the Ulster Schools Swimming Championships in Aurora, Bangor. Ella-Rose swam extremely well in her freestyle and breaststroke heats, narrowly missing out in a place in the final for both strokes. Faith swam competitively in her breaststroke heat but didn’t make the final 10. She then surprised herself by swimming a PB in her freestyle and gained a place in the final. She came home in an amazing 9th place. Henry won his breaststroke heat and headed into the final with the third fastest time. He then swam a PB in the final and came home in 2nd place, winning a beautiful silver medal. Henry has qualified for the Irish Schools Championships which will be held in the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin, in March 2023. We are immensely proud of these three swimmers and delighted that they represented our school at such a competitive event.
