We had a very exciting visitor in school today, Sharon from Natural World Products, came to help us plant some potatoes, in our school polytunnel through their campaign, ‘The Purple Potato Project’. Sharon worked with the Primary 1 class and some of our Eco-committee to help plant some potatoes in peat free New Leaf Compost and gave the children some great tips for planting and growing our own potatoes in school. Sharon also worked with the Primary 5/6 class and the Eco-committee to plant some fresh herbs in the polytunnel, we even gave the Coriander, Parsley, Thyme and Basil a taste! We look forward to watching our potatoes and herbs grow in the polytunnel in the coming weeks/months!
