Ulster Scots
We all enjoyed a visit from Ian Burrows yesterday who came to introduce himself to the children who will be starting to learn how to play the bagpipes. Ian kindly played a beautiful lament for the whole school; the same lament played as the funeral cortage of HRH Queen Elizabeth II left St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. It was a lovely moment of reflection on the committed, loyal and faithful lady that she was.
To cheer us all up he finished his visit by piping ‘Happy Birthday’ for Mrs Parr and the whole school sang along!
We are delighted to be commening bagpipe and snare drum tuition next week for P5, P6 and P7 children. Please remember to return your reply slip to Mrs Turkington if you haven’t already done so
